Escape from the city to discover a range of edible flowers, plants & fungi in a beautiful woodland just moments from the burgh. Ambling through trees and alongside the burn we will explore how to make wild food a staple and the benefits of doing so - from the nutritional to the cultural and philosophical. Throughout the afternoon gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. To finish the day we will picnic, tasting a variety of foraged dishes - and a treat or two for the over 18s! The walk should last ~2.5 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to enjoy some of the foods we have collected. Exact location of the walk will be confirmed via email the Friday before the event. Suitable for all ages with children welcome - individual or family tickets. Accessible via public transport and car parking available. For single child tickets please contact me directly.
