- Event is now sold out Join me for an Autumnal stroll along the river and an exploration of the edibles we find along the way. Along the way we will expect to find some fruits and berries, fungi, wild plants as well as spotting the wildlife that inhabits the Almond. Throughout the afternoon gather the basic skills required to identify common edibles as well as how to avoid poisonous & inedible lookalikes. Discuss how sustainability is an essential part of foraging for plants, nuts, fungi and fruits. Look at how wild food can become a complimentary part of a meal while being sympathetic to the environment around you, and why this is such a key part of the forager's philosophy. To finish the day we will picnic, tasting a variety of foraged dishes - experiencing wild food in its natural environment. The walk should last ~2.5 hours with the opportunity to stay a little later to enjoy some of the foods we have collected. Exact location of the walk will be confirmed via email before the event. Suitable for all ages with children welcome - individual or family tickets. Accessible via public transport and car parking available. For individual child tickets please contact me directly.
